Eren Dinkci will not return to SV Werder Bremen as planned in the summer. The forward, who is currently on loan at fellow Bundesliga side 1. FC Heidenheim, has informed the Werder board that he will be joining SC Freiburg at the end of the season after activating an exit clause in his contract.

“We very much regret that Eren has decided to leave Werder Bremen. His good performances for Heidenheim and the exit clause in his contract mean it was clear that other clubs would be interested in him. In our talks with Eren, we showed him the role we have in mind for him next year and also made him an attractive financial offer. Unfortunately he has decided against staying with us. We wish him all the best at SC Freiburg,” explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football at Werder Bremen.
